ENGL 427 - The Myth of Romance3 hours This course will explore the evolution of medieval romance beginning with its roots in historical texts and progressing to an analysis of political, cultural, and theological contributions to its flowering in the high middle ages. Starting with Geoffrey of Monmouth and ending with malory, we will discuss in detail the historical realities and the myth making that went into creating this cultural phenomena.
Prerequisite(s): English majors with senior standing.
