ARTH 297 - Asian Art3 hours
An introduction to the arts of South, Southeast, and East Asia. This class explores the objects, monuments, culture, and histories of important modern-day countries such as China, India, and Japan. Discusses works in a variety of media and their relation to social, spiritual, and political contexts. The objective is to gain an understanding of the many cultures of this region while learning how to critically analyze visual culture.
This course will satisfy the fine arts core area requirement and the multicultural requirement.
