MGMT 602 - Leading People and Organizations 3 hours This course explores both theory and application of competencies that contribute to effectiveness at the individual, team, and organizational levels. The goal of this course is to prepare students to manage people, teams, and organizations. It draws on content related to self and individual differences (e.g., values, attitudes and behaviors), peers (e.g., how to perceive others and self in relations to others, decision making, team and group dynamics, innovation), and organizations (organizational structure, culture, leadership, change management, power and politics). This course examines the concepts and theories of large, complex, formal organizations. The course focuses on the organization as an economic, social, bureaucratic and political system with regard to such factors as structure, change, and decision-making.
